I must've searched for 30mins before coming across this, it's the EXACT type of tool I was looking for. Most of the digital tools out there are built for online sessions, or only include half of the equation. Previously I would have to reference the monster sheet, mentally notate the die + modifiers for their attack, switch tabs to a dice roller, input the dice data, then roll. And then utilize a 3rd tab to adjust HP/view initiative. Not to mention savings throws, conditions, etc.
Is this still something your actively working on? The ability to create/add custom monsters would make this complete. Often have to buff/nerf certain monsters to match the party, and have many custom monsters of my own.
I feel as if there's quite a few DM's out there that would really love this tool, and I personally would be more than willing to contribute a small amount ($10-20) towards the time you've put into it, and feel others would as well.
Whoa, sorry about the super late reply! I'd kind of left it alone for awhile. Good news is I've been able to dedicate some time lately and have completely revamped the application. Like you, I didn't find anything out there that occupies the middle ground between a simple die-roller and a full out on-line (expensive) gaming tool.
I'm still working on the new version (https://my.blacklich.com), but it is already working (on chrome browser only) and I've play tested it several gaming sessions. I completely needed the ability to add/modify a monster, so you will find that already available. This required supporting users, so I've added that too. This way you have your own list of monsters. To do:
general improvements (bug fixes, etc. Will never end :)
sharing (you will be able to create a monster and enable sharing)
roll log
performance improvements
make compatible with non-chrome browsers (Firefox, Safari, Edge)
I super appreciate the warm reception! Frankly I'm ashamed that I didn't respond to you sooner. Thank you for the enthusiasm. I'm committing to posting updates. I fully welcome and would appreciate feedback and ideas!
Yours in D&D!
